What to do when you're not feeling it

When you're feeling down or just "not in the mood"...

just take action!

This morning, I woke up feeling anything but "up."

I wasn't in the mood for my morning workout and was feeling a bit down in general due to some recent developments (nothing major, thank G-d.)

So, what did I do?

I remembered William (Bill) McRaven's "Make your bed!" motto and I decided to take action.

All you need is one positive action, something small like making your bed to give your day a positive first step and get you moving in the right direction.

In my case, I half made my bed (my wife prefers to do it because my attempts leave the linen "ruffled") and got into my workout gear.

I wasn't feeling it, but I hit the basement gym anyways.

And after doing that and some other things, I'm feeling positive, energized, and more than ready to attack the day.

Newton taught us that "an object at rest tends to stay at rest."

He also taught that "an object in motion stays in motion unless an unbalanced force acts on it.

As I see it, this is true for your thoughts as well as objects.

When you're feeling down, think positive, act positive, whatever it takes to move forward and raise your spirits.

Your actions can overrule and change your mind.

All you need to do is start.

By taking one positive step in the right direction.

Get "in motion" to "stay in motion."

Your motion will improve your emotion!

Make it a great day!
